6 cavities filled at once

Today I went to the dentist to get my teeth worked on. Last week I had 4 cavities filled on the right side of my mouth. Today was supposed to be 4 more filled, but they decided to do 6 of them! 6 filling at once, it has to be a new record or something.

Something was different about todays visit. When the dentist gave me the shot of novocaine, my adrenaline surged and my heart raced. It was the same feeling that I got when I used to get pierced. It felt pretty good for a few minutes, but it didnt fade off, it got more intense. I started to shake, and my heart was pounding. I started to feel like things were closing in around me. I was legit freaking out. That never happens to me. This was all before the dentist started drilling or anything.

The next hour was intense because the sheer panic and terror that I was feeling didnt go away. I was sweating, it was gross. I lived through it though. My hair was all matted to my head when I got out of the chair.

It was hard to walk. I had to sit down for a while and compose myself. Since they filled all 6, I dont have to go back to the dentist for more work.

I cant feel my face, and I am pain right now!

The moral of the story kids… FLOSS YOUR MOTHER EFFING TEETH!

Monopoly

On Wednesday little ryan called me and told me to go to the coffee shop for open mic night, Loomis and him were going to play an acoustic set of punk rock songs. Sounds like a good time to me.

Amy and I rolled into stell at 8. Keller was working, that was cool. The guys playing wernt that good, but they were "music" guys. You know the guys that take them selves WAYYYYYY to seriously, and whos career highlight is playing open mic night at a coffee shop for other "music guys". At 9:30 they let Ryan and Loomis take their turn.

They started with "rancid – roots radical". It was a solid song. Loomis did good on the guitar, and ryan sang it well. Next was "operation ivy – take warning", that came out good as well. Both of the songs have a reggae up beat to them. Ryan said that they had two more to play, and the guy running it corrected him… "Only One More". They played "rise against – pints of guinness make you strong". That song was the best i think.

After they finished, they brought back up one of the "serious" musicians to play… for a 3rd set of the night. Acoustics punk rock gets less then 10 minutes, and this ass gets 3 sets? how far is that? screw open mic night! They played legit music, in my honest opinion it was world better then some guy "jamming" on his ultra nice guitar that has never seen a real stage. I know they got kicked off stage because of what it was, despite the fact that ryan was really singing, not yelling or shouting, and loomis wasnt some master at the guitar. Oh well.

After that we all came back to my house for a rousing 5 hour game of monopoly. At 2am, Loomis was able to eliminate Amy from the game, by holding all the property on the board. Monopoly is great fun, to bad it takes half a day to play a solid game. I want to make it a weekly event.

Die, Die My Darling

Saturday was the “Jesse James no love party”, in long beach at west coast choppers / monster garage. xDEATHSTARx was invited by Jesse James to come out and play the party. The party started at 12, xDSx went on at 12:30. There were about 800 people or so there when they played. The sound at the show was amazing. When the band started, I was blown away. It felt like the first time I saw the acacia strain. I was in xDSx for 3 years, I know all of the songs, but something was different this time. The last song of the set was represent. During the guest vocal spot, I ran up and took the mic. It felt good to be back on stage and screaming my head off, even if it only lasted 30 seconds.

There was a roller derby set up there. It was pretty awesome. There is just something about girls on skates, beating the crap out of each other that is simply amazing. Ive invited the LA Derby Dolls to the notPop roller jam 2005. I hope they come out.

The rest of the bands were what ever to me. Droid, Manic Hispanic, High on Fire, and the Adolescence played. After the Adolescence, Jesse James got on stage and said something unimpressive in a drunken snooper, then introduced the special guest… DANZIG.

DAN freaking ZIG! He was rocking his typical gear, samhain logo belt buckle, and a rubber looking shirt, and long black hair. I had never seen Danzig in person, but I have been a fan for years. A few months ago, Frank Pavich showed me where he lives in Hollywood. They played a few songs off of Danzig 1. There is something about Danzig that is captivating, it was amazing.

After a few songs, Danzig invited Doyle out onto the stage, then the Danzig band was transformed into the Misfits! Doyle is a beast of a man! He stood about 7 feet tall, looked like bodybuilder and with this face paint and hair, reminded me of real life frankenstein. He dwarfed Danzig. The Misfits was great. They didnt play long, but they played with the energy and heart that I would expect from them. I can really see how The Misfits have change the face of both punk rock and metal over the years. Danzig closed the set with his signature song, mother. The crowd was probably louder then danzig himself. I have seen hundreds of bands, and heard thousands of bands, but Saturday night will be forever engrained in my mind.

Whats ever funnier is that xDSx played Hellfest with Jerry Onlys version of the misfits a year and a half ago and no one cared. Sure he might be a balding jerk, but damn there is something electric about Danzig.

the dentist visit

its been years since I have been to the dentist. I dont really like dentists. I think the last time I had a check up was about 2 years ago. It was the best check up I had ever had. no problems, no cavaties, everything was awesome.

Today I went to the dentist, and they took some x-rays. Once they were done processing, the Dr. came in and sat down. he pointed out on the x-rays all the spots where I had cavaties… all 10 spots! TEN FREAKING CAVATIES!!!. What the hell! Im on a plan to get 2 a week fixed, from here until x-mas. Good thing I have insurance 🙁

Tribute CDs can suck it

I'll be the first one to admit that I love AFI. I have been a huge fan of them since 1996.
I was cruising around the internet today when I came across a tribute to AFI. I thought cool, I'll check it out. WORST IDEA EVER!

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000BV1XT/ref=pd_sbs_b_1/002-1530767-9041606?%5Fencoding=UTF8&v=glance

This tribute possibly the biggest pile of crap that I have ever put into my ears. It was like a train wreck. I knew that it wasnt good, but I couldnt stop. Davey may have a feminine look going these days, but his songs are not girly pop songs. 90% of the songs on this tribute are sang by girls, with a poppy version of the song behind it. what the hell!

other tribute cds that I have checked out over the years and have also sucked:
Along the way – a Tribute to Bad Religion
Take Warning – The songs of operation Ivy

When will I learn to stop checking out tribute cds to my favorite bands? If anything I guess it makes me appreciate the original band that much more.
