Colorado Trip

I have been so busy lately, I keep meaning to post here, but I always forget. I'll try to improve on that.

On Jan 14th, I took off work and Amy and I flew to Colorado to hang out with
Chad and Marie. The flight went by quickly. Amy And I were both reading "the 5
languages of love". We landed in Denver safely. It was 6 degrees when we landed, a far cry from the 65 degrees in California when we left. Chad had an incoming flight from DC, so we waited for him in the airport, then headed to his house.

Ive driven through Colorado before, on the way to hellfest last June, but it was dark. On the way home through Colorado, I was asleep most of the time. Either way, I never really got to see how crazy it is there. Lots of open land, lots of snow on the ground, huge mountains, it was really awesome.

Speaking of awesome. Chad and Maries house is off the hook! Seriously on of the nicest houses I have been in. I can only dream that my place is that nice one-day. Their back yard is pretty much a wild life preserve. As far as my eyes could see, it is preserved land that wont be developed ever. I saw some birds and some coyotes out there.

Chad and Maries kids are the bomb. Usually I dont like kids that much, but this wasnt the case at all. It was fun to hang out with them. Andrew is ruff as they come. In the 3 days we were there, I personally saw him fall over and hit his head on the hardwood floor at least 4 times, I saw him fall down a few steps of the stairs, and I saw him run, trip and land on his elbows more times then I can remember. If I took damage like that on a daily basis, I would be in a wheel
chair for sure. The girls had this awesome set of kids computer games that taught them spelling, math, and other things. They spent hours playing it and learning things. I hope to have my kids involved in something like that one day, It way better then watching TV, and I was surprised how cool the games were. I guess it proves there is a world of computer software out there that is under my radar.

Amy and I didnt go out much, not because of the cold weather, but because of the purpose of our visit. Chad is going to marry Amy and I, and before doing so,
Chad and Marie wanted to do some pre-marital stuff with us. Basically we just
talked about expectations, and how to work with difficulties that we may face. It was really rad and useful. I know that my marriage with Amy is going to be a good one.

While we were there, Aaron and Amy along with their kids and Holly came to see us. It was like the bible study at Chads house 2 years ago all over again.

On Sunday we went to their church. It was out of control, but in a really good way. Once worship started, and the 40+-member choir took stage, It was clear to
me that I had never been in a church like this one. People were so fired up, singing and dancing, jumping up and down. Old ladies, little boys, the pastor, everyone. The closest thing that I can compare it to is a really amazing show, where EVERYONE there is 100% interested and captivated by the band, and everyone knows the music and words… basically an AFI show (if you have been to one, you know what I mean). The energy in the room was electric, it made the hair on my hair stand on end. It was amazing. The pastor would strut back and forth on the stage preaching his message, and people would yell things like "AMEN!", "PREACH IT!", "GO ON PASTOR!", "MMMMHUMM!". I dont think the guy really needed to use a microphone, he was so fired up, he just shouted the message. It was a really cool experience. It was a far cry from the Catholic Church that I went to as a little kid. Im glad that Chad and Marie have found a good church to plug into.

The trip home went by fast. I sat next to this raver/hipop/early 90's punk kid on the plane. His iPod headphones were so loud; I could hear all the music he was listening to. From really crappy techno to voodoo glow skulls to some ska. It was a really odd combo of tunes. To each his own. I passed the time by drawing on the people in the in-flight magazine. I gave a bunch of the people black eyes and bloody noses, mohawks, piercings, Frankenstein neck bolts, etc. Yeah I know it wasnt something a 25 year old should do, but I just cant help laughing knowing that someone is going to pick that up and read it. haha!

The weekend was awesome.

Wanted: Money, and a new set of wrists

My wrists are shot. I'm in braces again because the burning wrist hurt disese known as carpel tunnel has returned to my left wrist. I hate this.

I cant lift weights anymore, I'm getting super tiny. I should just go to mexico, stick a needle in my butt, get over the pain and just get huge.

Until then, if you have a spare set of wrists, can I buy them off of you? oh wait I forgot, I'm broke 🙁

Things suck right now

AZ Tour Weekend

Last weekend we had a show in Tucson Az. We borrowed Sinai Beaches van. I wish we would of had that thing going to hellfest and back! It has crazy room for each person, has a TV and a playstation. Talk about nice. Having those luxuries made the trip go by quick. The show was at scrappys. I really like that venue. When we got there, they had vegan chili mac for us. I have never had food go through me so fast! vegan chili mac… never again. We headlined, and I think we played well. I met a bunch of cool kids, Doozer, Sam, and some other people. We stayed at this kid Jordans house. He had cats so I had to sleep in the van, sitting up in my seat. That part was the low light of the trip. The highlight was vegan donuts! we bought about 20 dozen of them (20 x 12 = 240!). Tucson Tim met us at the bakery. The drive home was cool until we hit California, and the sky opened up and dumped ass loads of water on us. Driving was sketchy but we got home ok.

Jason and DBo have moved out. They found a really cool loft style apt on the 3rd floor of a house in Redlands. Its pretty nice. Im happy that Jason has a space of his own now. He likes decorating and things like that. Im going to try and name their apt. "Courage house", since they are both Courage Crew and the only courage crew guys in the IE.

Christmas

Christmas time is always a weird time, but its a good time. Moving into this house really made Christmas seem different. There wasn’t and decorations except for a digital led Christmas tree in the corner that my mom gave me. Amy and I decided to take it easy since we have the house to finish working on, and the wedding and honeymoon to pay for. She gave me a new wallet, a book on the history of Redlands (its freaking awesome), a new belt, and a bunch of Swedish fish. I got her a bunch of gift cards for places that she likes and new guitar tuner. It was a good day with a lot of running around, houses and families to visit.

The day after Christmas, Amy and I met for lunch with Chad and Marie. They rule so much. Chad is going to marry Amy and I, so we are doing to basic pre-marital counseling type stuff with them. I personally have learned a lot about myself and how my relationship with Amy is, and how it should be, and what my role in a marriage is. Amy and I have also been able to talk about some things that we never really talked about before also.

New Years Eve

New Years eve we had a party at Misha's house. It was a good time, just a bunch of friends hanging out, playing dice on the kitchen floor, drinking root beer listening to hip-hop and telling stories… basically a typical IWC get together.

New Years Day

Holy crap! I woke up with a sick feeling in my stomach at 7am. I staggered to the bathroom and threw up in the sink; I didnt make it to the toilet. I felt a bit better, and went back to bed. At 10am I woke up again and had to go to the bathroom. I was still feeling a bit off, but whats unusual about that, Im always sick (no not 'sick' like dirt bikes either). I jumped into the shower to start my day. A few minutes later, Im braced up against the wall of the shower leaning offer, barfing my brains out. It was to the point that every time I took in a breath, it turned into my stomach wrenching and me puking. After this happened until there was nothing left and I was throwing up bitter tasting acid and bile, every thing started to fade to black, and I got light headed, so I sat down in the shower….then I passed out. I dont know how long I was out, but when I came to, I had another weird feeling in my stomach. I hopped out of the shower and staggered to the toilet. I then began experiencing the same thing I had in the shower, but this time with my butt. A few moments into that, I had to puke again, so I dumped out the trash can to have something to puke into. Here I am, my first real moments of 2005, throwing up at both ends at the same time. What a good way to start the New Year. The rest of the day consisted of me sleeping in bed, getting up only to either crap my brains out, or barf my brains out. I wanted to die. I hate being sick.
It had to be food poisoning because Jasons girlfriend had the same thing going on.

On Sunday I was feeling well enough for band practice. I love to sing. We hadnt had practice for the singers in 3 weeks so I wasnt going to miss it, even if i was sick. Practice went good, despite the fact that I had to go outside to puke once. After practice was over, I was done. I wanted to go to church, but I was feeling like crap. I just stayed at home and slept.

An Eventful Weekend

Jason Keller left for PA on Thursday, Amy left for Bakersfield, D-Bo was back in town. I love hanging out with D-Bo. I love that Bleeding Through is doing so good, but I dont like the fact that I only get to see Derek a few times a year.

Friday D-Bo and I went to glasshouse to flyer the Sinai beach Throwdown show. Sinai came out in x-mas gear. CJ was an elf, mike d was Santa, and everyone else was reindeer, and yes they threw out presents. During Throwdown there was a gnarly fight. 4-5 guys destroyed this kid. He was on the ground rolled up in a ball, and then someone grabbed a fire extinguisher and started to bash his face in with it. That kid was done. I felt bad for him. There were several fights during Throwdow, which bummed me out, but I love seeing Throwdown, so it kind of leveled everything out for me. I handed out an ass load of flyers, about 700 or so. I hope my wedding show goes well.

Friday I drove to Bakersfield and back. I had my war driving rig (net stumbler) in full effect for the drive there and back. I was surprised how many APs you can find just by driving on the freeway. Pasadena is a gold mine. The wedding was cool. I didnt know anyone there, besides Amy, but she was in the wedding party, so I had to chill by myself all night. The drive home went fast though, and thats a good thing. I ended up chilling out with Eric and D-Bo.

Yennys Christmas sweater party was awesome. Tons of people showed up at Yennys house. I would imagine it was close to 50 people or so. The night was mellow, hanging out with friends, telling stories, and eating tons of food all while wearing outrageous Christmas sweaters. Once the white elephant gift exchange started up, things started to get wild. Some of the best presents of the night included a broken TV, a trapper keeper, a box bullets, a penis shaped lufa, and a pair of old speedo's stuffed with hot dogs. There were close to 40 presents in all. It was a good time to be had by all. I love my friends.
